Updating your contact information is essential for us to provide your student with the best support throughout the year. To ensure accurate and timely updates, please update your contact information in PowerSchool, which will then sync to ParentSquare.

Free Breakfast and Lunch for Every Student

All Ottumwa Community School District students will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2026-27 school year—our fifth consecutive year providing meals at no cost to every student. This program helps remove barriers for families, support student health and well-being, and ensure every child has access to nutritious meals that help them learn and succeed.

School breakfast and lunch are provided daily to all students at no cost to you.

KIDaccount Student, Staff, and Visitor Management

Ottumwa Schools uses KIDaccount to help maintain a safe and secure environment in our schools.

Visitors are checked against national sex offender registries and provided with a badge upon check-in. Please bring a valid photo ID or driver’s license when visiting a school for the first time; you will not need to bring an ID for every visit.

KIDaccount helps manage student, staff, and visitor check-in and check-out during the school day, providing an accurate, real-time record of who is in each school. This added layer of accountability enhances school safety and supports a quick, coordinated response in the event of an emergency.

Food Pantry

The Ottumwa Community School District Food Pantry is open on Fridays from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Gateway High School, 907 Gateway Drive, Ottumwa.

Our food pantry is open every Friday during the school year and is available to all Ottumwa Schools families, from three-year-old preschool students to high school seniors. Premade boxes are created each week to include a variety of fresh foods for our families. Paperwork is required and will be available to complete on-site.

REMINDERS:

There is no school on Monday, September 7, due to the holiday.
School is dismissed at 1:00 PM every Friday.

The 2026 Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Saturday, October 10. Interested parties can sign up now through October 5!
