Handle With Care

A huge part of our Be The Best initiative is our commitment to providing students with the best social, emotional, and mental health support. Ottumwa Schools is honored to be an active partner in the Handle With Care Program. We have partnered with local agencies and the surrounding community to provide children a safe space and resources in the wake of a traumatic event. If you know a family that is experiencing a difficult time, we would like to provide additional support at school. 

To refer a student/family, call, text or email the At-Risk, Family Services Coordinator, Megan Logan, with the child’s or children’s name and Handle With Care. No additional information is needed. This allows us to communicate with the proper staff that the child may need a little grace that day, including additional time, love and support.
