2024-25 Grade Reconfiguration

We would like to remind our community about the grade reconfigurations that are set to take place in the upcoming 2024-25 school year. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the educational experience for our students and align with the evolving needs of our community. To provide you with a clear understanding of the grade configurations for the 2024-25 school year, we have included a graphic below that outlines the updated grade levels for each building:

Ottumwa Schools Grade Reconfiguration for the 2024-25 School Year:

  • Pickwick Early Childhood Center: Preschool and Southside Kindergarten

  • Douma Elementary School: Grades 1-2

  • Fahrney Elementary School: Grades 3-5

  • Eisenhower Elementary School: Grades K-5

  • Horace Mann Elementary School: Grades K-5

  • James Elementary School: Grades K-5

  • Wilson Elementary School: Grades K-5

  • Liberty Intermediate School: Grades 6-7

  • Evans Junior High School: Grades 8-9

  • Ottumwa High School: Grades 10-12

It's important to note that there is no impact on the Northside Elementary schools.

The linchpin for these grade configuration changes has been the construction of the new elementary building on the Douma campus, Fahrney. We are excited to share the district's newest, state-of-the-art facility for our 3rd-5th grade Bulldog students.

Ottumwa Schools believes this strategic reorganization will contribute to a more cohesive and enriching educational experience for all students. The district looks forward to the community's continued support as it embraces this positive change. Check out Mr. McGrory's interview with KYOU.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Ottumwa Community School District family.
