Dear Resident,

We are writing to inform you of a scheduled controlled burn that will take place during the week of March 17, 2025. As part of a coordinated effort between the Ottumwa Fire Department (OFD) and the Ottumwa Police Department (OPD), three district-owned houses located on Fourth Street, across from Ottumwa High School, will be burned for training and safety purposes.

This controlled burn will be conducted under strict safety protocols and with full oversight from emergency personnel. You can expect to see an increased presence of firefighters, police officers, and emergency vehicles in the area throughout the week.
